We made it to Alice's first birthday!!!! It has such a challenging, fun, exhausting, rewarding, and memorable past 12 months.
Challenging - juggling between two schedules, making sure both are fed, napped and warm, not forgetting about our dog Sleepy, trying to get to school on time, getting enough diapers for both, remembering to wipe two mouths and bringing two water bottles out....everything has been far from perfect. But we are ALL here and smiling!!
Fun - playing with your two kids can be so adorable and entertaining. Watching them play together can be the sweetest sight. At 11 months, Alice is able to pass the ball around in a circle! I can only do this up to 5 minutes. My favorite time of the day is having breakfast with Adam and Alice! it's only 45 minutes most and we have the best conversations!
Exhausting - cleaning up after two kids is just crazy. Washing dishes to begin with is a chore - now adding bottles, more spoons and towels. Need more hand cream please!
Rewarding - when you get both of them to nap....at the same time! When Alice is eating tomatoes, meat, veggies and finish her full bottle of milk!!! I have a list of things that I need to get ready to do right when both doze off... And getting the list checked off, you feel like you are a superhero! At the end of the day, when both are bathed, in their PJs, had their dinner, and finished their book - it is a huge accomplishment!
Memorable - Life is hard right now, but I am not complaining. I know when I look back, I know this is the best time of my life....
Alice's first birthday was a grand success! Winnie helped with most of the decorations. We had a garden party with flowers made out of coffee filters...everywhere! Alice's chinese name is a type of flower and it can't be more appropriate. Most importantly - I know she had SO MUCH fun! I only wish I can spend more time with her.
