- most significant event: Amber Tang is born on 3/7/2017
- Alice started school! She couldn't start at Tzu Chi with Adam so she is in the baby class in Starkidz. So lucky to get a spot since there is a waitlist.
- Moved out of the Walnut house and moved into my mom's for 3 months!
- Moved in to new house in June 2017. Its been almost 5 months and we are still unpacking boxes.
- Oh Mulberry Bush is opened in January of 2017!
- SB2 is now Senbesta!
- We have three kids and Sleepy is still with us!
- A lot of late nights and neverending work.
- Almost got into a bad collision today! Fell out of bed on 9/14 - most bizarre thing happened to me as of yet this year.
So much has been happening that I never got a chance to document Amber's birth.
The baby was 5 days late. The due date was March 1 and we were so sure that the baby was going to arrive early because of all the braxton hicks I was experiencing. I tried to square away as much as I could before the arrival but my water didnt break at all. Until....the early morning of 3/7 at 3AM. Alice was sleeping with me that night in my room at my mom's house. The contractions woke me up. I stared at the clock as I feel the contractions coming and going. I then realized that they were about 8 minutes apart so I walked over to Scott and told him - I think we should go to the hospital. He woke up and we told my mom that we are going and to sleep with Alice, who of course woke up crying.
There was no time to waste as my contractions were not slowing down. Got into the car at 4am and arrived at the hospital. Couldnt believe that I had to stop to get those contractions to pass as I walked into the hospital and up the third floor. Since my water didn't break this time, the nurse had to check me before I could get admitted. I was already 6cm dilated so they took me in.
Got admitted at 5:45AM and the nurse came and checked me to see if I needed pain meds, etc, etc. i was very hesitant and asked for just some narcotics to take the edge off but then i told her that the baby MIGHT be coming any minute now. She checked me and looked at like - the baby is here. The head nurse came - broke my water, told me to push and then slow down and push again.
It's a girl. We were happy, relieved and couldnt believe how fast this labor was. I loved the feeling that at that moment, nothing matters except for this new baby in our lives. Scott even had time to take Adam to school, went home to shower. Amber was perfect - she was so ready to meet her brother and sister and me! We bonded right away.......
6 months in - Amber just got her shots today. She is sleeping quietly in her crib and is the smiliest baby ever. Her brother loves her and so does she. Alice is the most fierce, strong, demanding, little woman you will ever meet. These three amaze me every single day and I look forward to ending the day with them every day.
